Fetu-i-Sasa’e Aoga Amata is part of the outreach ministry of Congregational Christian Church in Samoa, East Tamaki. We believe that “every child is a gift from God”. Our focus is to work collaboratively with staff, parents and the church community to create and maintain a high quality, safe and nurturing environment where each child is encouraged to explore and develop to their fullest potential not only the physical, emotional and academic skills but also the values embraced by the Fa’aSamoa and Christian principles. We encourage and develop in each child, strong verbal communication skills in the Gagana Samoa.
Our collaborative programme is grounded on Te-Whariki the New Zealand Early Childhood Education curriculum together with the Taiala o le Gagana Samoa (Samoan in NZ). These socialcultural frameworks supports early learning development and the Fetu-i-Sasa’e Tofa Manino principles. Both curriculums guide our teaching and daily practice. Observations, assessments and evaluations of children’s interests are implemented to empower children’s learning and progress and to lead teachers programme planning.
